Key Responsibilities: – Greet, prepare, and support patients prior to ultrasound procedures with professionalism and empathy. – Perform a variety of ultrasound examinations, including: o Abdominal o Pelvic o Musculoskeletal (MSK) o Vascular o Small parts o Neonatal scans – Record and document relevant patient history and scan findings accurately. – Ensure informed consent is obtained and verify patient details for billing accuracy. – Collaborate with radiologists, referring doctors, and internal staff to support clinical decision-making. – Maintain ultrasound equipment, perform basic troubleshooting, and participate in routine quality control checks. – Assist with the supervision and guidance of student sonographers when required. Minimum Requirements: – Diploma or Degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound. – Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Diagnostic Sonographer. – Completed community service. – Minimum of 3 years’ post-community service experience. – Proficient in a wide range of scans across disciplines. – Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to patient care. – Demonstrated ability to manage diverse patient profiles with empathy and professionalism. – Exposure to soft skills training (e.g., customer service, time management) is advantageous.
