About the Role
To ensure that all scaffolding operations are in strict compliance with health and safety legislation, safety standards, and project-specific requirements, we are seeking an experienced Scaffold Safety Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting structures, facilitating risk assessments, monitoring contractor performance, and leading safety initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect scaffolding structures to ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards
- Facilitate risk assessments and monitor contractor performance
- Lead safety initiatives and promote a positive safety culture on site
- Conduct oversight of scaffold structures during operations and shutdowns
- Prepare safety documentation, incident reports, and maintain safety compliance files
Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 required
- Scaffolding Inspector Certificate
- SAMTRAC or SHEMTRAC certification
- Diploma in Safety Management (preferred)
- Fall Protection Plan Developer Certificate
- ISO 45001 internal Auditor certification
- Legal Liability Course completion
- Advance Risk Assessment Training
- Incident Investigation (ICAM or RCAT) training
- Registration with SACPCMP: (CHSO)
Qualifications
- Scaffolding Inspector Certificate
- SAMTRAC or SHEMTRAC certification
