Pretoria: Intermediate/Senior Java Developer

Key Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and enhance Java-based applications and services across complex systems. Lead the design and implementation of scalable, efficient, and secure software solutions. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues while ensuring system stability and performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and to specification. Mentor Junior Developers and provide technical guidance on best practices. Participate in code reviews, testing, and quality assurance processes to maintain high coding standards. Support the integration of applications with databases, APIs, and third-party systems. Contribute to CI/CD pipeline management and automation using Bamboo or similar tools. Optimize PostgreSQL databases and maintain Linux-based application environments. Requirements: 57 years experience in software development with Java and modern JavaScript frameworks. Strong proficiency in Java, JavaScript (Node.js, Angular, and TypeScript), HTML & CSS. Experience with WildFly, Bamboo, and Linux environments. Proven track record of delivering complex projects and resolving production issues. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a hybrid work environment. Skills & Qualifications: Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Hands-on experience with back-end and front-end frameworks, including Node.js and Angular. Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and database optimization techniques. Solid understanding of Linux operating systems and general computing fundamentals. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Leadership or mentoring experience is a plus.
