About the Role
Dante Group Ltd is seeking an experienced Plant and Fleet Manager to join our team in Pretoria North. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our plant and fleet assets, ensuring maximum uptime and optimizing maintenance costs. This is a critical role that requires strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and experience in managing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage plant and transport equipment including yellow equipment and trucks to ensure maximum uptime
- Ensure operational and leadership skills are applied to maintain high levels of performance
- Implement performance management across maintenance and workshop staff
- Coordinate with division and Operations Managers to ensure asset availability
- Provide technical input for budgeting, modelling, and cost control
- Conduct daily technical meetings and work reviews
- Manage Mechanics and Technical support teams
- Approve requisitions within approved budget parameters
- Work with Procurement and Finance to balance quality, pricing, and operational requirements
Requirements
- Engineering degree, technical degree, or diploma in similar field (A must)
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in a similar management role
- Experience managing fleets exceeding 80 vehicles
- Strong technical knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Proven experience managing teams of 15 employees
- Understanding workshop systems or similar
