About the Opportunity

A well-established Medical Bureau in Pretoria East is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and experienced Medical Receptionist to join their administrative team. This front-line position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in capturing medical claims, strong typing accuracy, and a high level of professionalism when engaging with practices and patients.

You will play a key role in supporting the smooth operation of the bureau, ensuring efficient communication, data accuracy, and quality service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet all patients and visitors professionally and courteously
• Answer and manage incoming calls; route messages accurately
• Register and update patient information in the medical billing system
• Capture patient information and medical aid claims on the system accurately and promptly
• Liaise with patients, medical aid schemes, and the healthcare team
• Provide general administrative support: scanning, filing, correspondence
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in handling sensitive medical data
• Assist with appointment scheduling and patient queries

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric / Grade 12 (Essential)
• Minimum 2 years experience in a medical receptionist or admin role
• Hands-on experience capturing medical claims (Essential)
• Valid drivers license and own transport (Essential)

Technical Skills:

• Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Typing speed: Minimum 3545 words per minute
• High level of accuracy in data entry and claims processing
• Familiarity with medical billing systems (advantageous)

Advantageous

• Experience in a Medical Bureau or Specialist Practice
• Familiarity with medical billing systems
• Understanding of ICD-10 coding and PMB protocols
