Minimum requirements: Grade 12 or equivalent. Scaffold experience on Supervision level. Valid Drivers License. 23 years of working experience. Time management skills. Good communication and writing skills. Planning skills. Duties and responsibilities: To ensure effective site management on all your sites. To ensure effective cost management on all your sites. To ensure that all sites adhere to SANS 10085 1:2004 and the Construction Regulations of 2014. To achieve the above through effective management of the site supervisor, safety representative, and erectors. Manage production on sites. Manage scaffolding on sites. Manage crew on sites. Ensure proper supervision on sites. Manage stock to and from sites. Attend regular site meetings. Build customer relationships. Manage all tools and equipment on sites, with proper registers, procedures, and policies. Manage all plant on site, i.e. containers, sheds, toilets, etc. Manage all vehicles on site. Carry out inspections. Attend site meetings. Attend contracts manager meetings. Prepare costing reports. Manage leave, timesheets, and overtime. Issue warnings and arrange or attend disciplinary hearings. Ensure ID documents and work permits are valid. Carry out safety inspections. Ensure that a comprehensive Health and Safety file is available on site. Ensure that the safety harness register is up to date on each site. Regularly inspect the harnesses for defects and ensure all workers are in possession of a harness and hook up at heights of 1.5 metres and above. Ensure that all statutory appointments have been completed and that all statutory requirements are met. Ensure that all workers possess the legally required certificates, including medicals, erectors, and working at heights, and ensure that all work is carried out by suitably trained and competent persons. Ensure that all safety registers, i.e. scaffold inspection register, PPE register, hand tool register, DSTIs, PTOs, toolbox talks, safety tags, etc., are up to date and in accordance with company expectations. Ensure that both you and your workers are familiar with SANS 10085-1:2004, the Occupational Health and Safety Act No. 85 of 1993, and the Construction Regulations of 2014, and that all scaffolding erected complies with the above. Ensure that health and safety committees are established and that regular meetings with minutes are held. Ensure that the required risk assessments are carried out and that all persons are aware of the hazards related to the work being carried out, and are fully conversant with the precautionary measures to be taken to avoid such dangers. Report any deviations from the above instructions that cannot be rectified by yourself to management immediately, and include such deviations in a written report to management. Ensure that all sites have a competent SHE representative. Ensure proper management of PPE issued to workers. Ensure that all necessary inductions are conducted. Provide your crew with the relevant training to ensure that defective, damaged, and unsafe scaffolding is returned to the yard for further evaluation. Conduct training on all HR matters for your supervisor to empower him to fulfil all his HR duties on site. To perform any other task necessary for the conduct of the employers business, as the employer may from time to time direct.
