KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Set up slitter machines based on work orders and material specifications. Operate slitting equipment to convert large master rolls into smaller rolls per customer or production requirements. Monitor machine performance and product quality throughout the production run. Inspect material before and after slitting to ensure accuracy, cleanliness, and defect-free rolls. Adjust machine settings for speed, tension, and blade alignment to maintain optimal operation. Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and escalate significant problems to maintenance as needed. Ensure finished rolls are properly labeled, packaged, and prepared for the next stage of production or shipment. Keep accurate production records, including output, scrap, and downtime. Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance on slitting machines. Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times. REQUIREMENTS Grade 12 Proven experience operating slitter or rewinder machines, ideally in a packaging or converting environment (essential must have experience) Understanding of different material types used in packaging (films, foils, paper, etc.). Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret work orders, measurements, and technical drawings. Comfortable lifting heavy rolls and working on your feet for extended periods. Knowledge of health and safety standards in a manufacturing environment.
