About the Role
Our client, a leading fashion apparel retailer, is seeking an experienced Assistant Store Manager to join their team at Walmer Park in George, Western Cape. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail management and excellent customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve set revenues and maintain required margins and KPIs
- Ensure effective store facilities management
- Supervise the store employees in the areas of loss prevention, customer services, and staff management
- Provide management advice to staff on problems/store emergencies
- Verify and monitor hours worked by temps on time sheets and control overtime usage
- Manage expenses to ensure they do not exceed budget (e.g., telephone stationery, petty cash, purchase orders)
- Oversee staffing plans and manage all operations programs
- Monitor and order all store operating and merchandising suppliers (e.g., signage, tags, stationery)
- Execute staff dress in the store and perform any and all duties normally assigned to subordinate staff to maintain staff coverage
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the retail sector
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in working as an Assistant Manager in a similar environment
- Matric or tertiary/post-matric qualification (advantageous)
- Experienced in training staff on the job in terms of product knowledge, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures
