Job Description

As the bookkeeper you accurately record daily financial transactions, managing accounts payable/receivable, reconciling bank statements, processing payroll, and maintaining financial records using accounting software (like QuickBooks or Excel), ensuring financial data is precise, compliant, and ready for management or accountants to analyse for strategic insights and tax preparation. Key duties include data entry, generating invoices, tracking payments, and preparing basic financial reports like balance sheets and income statements. Key Responsibilities Transaction Recording: Accurately logging all daily financial activities, including sales, expenses, payments, and receipts. Accounts Payable/Receivable (AP/AR): Managing bills, processing vendor payments, sending invoices to clients, and tracking payments. Bank Reconciliation: Matching bank statements with company records to ensure accuracy. Payroll Processing: Handling payroll duties, including calculating wages, deductions, and tax withholdings. General Ledger Management: Posting transactions to the correct accounts in the general ledger. Financial Reporting: Preparing basic financial statements (balance sheet, income statement) and other reports as needed. Compliance: Ensuring records are compliant with accounting principles and tax laws. Essential Skills & Qualifications Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and spreadsheet programs (Excel). Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Understanding of basic accounting principles (e.g., double-entry bookkeeping). Good communication skills for interacting with clients and management.
