Based at our newly renovated Pool Area, the heartbeat of Cape Towns most loved destination. Key Responsibilities Beverage Service Take drink orders accurately and efficiently from guests at the bar and surrounding seating areas. Use your product knowledge to recommend cocktails, wines, and non-alcoholic options suited to guest preferences. Prepare and serve cocktails with precision, consistency, and style, ensuring every drink meets brand standards. Serve beverages using the correct glassware, garnishes, and presentation techniques. Follow responsible service of alcohol policies and verify identification when required. Guest Experience Deliver exceptional guest service that is warm, professional, and memorable. Anticipate guest needs and offer personalised recommendations to elevate their experience. Build rapport with regular guests and create an atmosphere of comfort and connection. Handle challenging situations calmly, finding solutions that maintain guest satisfaction. Provide knowledgeable advice on beverages, pairings, and menu options. Revenue Generation Actively upsell and promote premium beverages and signature cocktails. Support bar promotions, events, and activations to drive sales and visibility. Meet and exceed individual and departmental revenue goals. Bar Upkeep & Maintenance Maintain a clean, organised, and fully stocked bar at all times. Restock ingredients, glassware, and supplies as required during service. Report maintenance or equipment issues to the Bar Manager promptly. Inventory Management Participate in daily stock counts, monitor consumption, and report wastage. Assist with ordering, stock rotation, and maintaining accurate records. Ensure compliance with storage and hygiene standards. Qualifications and Experience Matric certificate (Grade 12) required Minimum 2 years bartending experience in a hotel or upscale bar environment Strong knowledge of cocktails, wines, spirits, and current beverage trends Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to perform effectively under pressure and multitask during peak service Attention to detail with a focus on presentation and consistency POS and cash handling experience advantageous Must be of legal drinking age and eligible to serve alcohol South African ID or valid work permit About the Hotel Set in the heart of Bantry Bay, between Cape Towns vibrant city life and the Atlantic Ocean, The President Hotel is on a journey to be recognised as a true luxury destination.
