About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Executive Chef to lead our luxury boutique hotel’s kitchen team in the KZN Midlands region. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for creating delicious and innovative menus that showcase our hotel’s commitment to fine dining. With a minimum of 4-5 years experience as an executive chef in a 5-star hotel or boutique property environment, we are looking for someone who is creative, passionate about food, and dedicated to providing exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that all company policies, procedures, and standard operating processes are adhered to
- Efficiently run the kitchen
- Prepare, cook, and serve meals according to company standards
- Work towards exceeding customer expectations by promoting high levels of service
- Regularly update menus to ensure freshness, seasonal appropriateness, and reflection of global trends
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen cleaning schedules and staff management
Requirements
- Minimum 4-5 years experience as an executive chef in a 5-star hotel or boutique property environment
- Culinary diploma
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to work in a pressured environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to handle criticism from customers
- Ability to maintain a high level of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen area
