About the Role

A 5-star hotel in Rosebank is seeking a Guest Relations Officer / Receptionist to join their dynamic team. As a Guest Relations Officer, you will be at the forefront of customer services, providing hotel guests with above-and-beyond service to ensure their experience is worth remembering. You will be responsible for ensuring that all guests receive a warm welcome and are looked after during their stay.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take control of your shift once coming on duty
  • Ensure all guests coming to the reception desk are welcomed with a smile and in a friendly, prompt, and efficient manner
  • Check in/out guests efficiently following correct procedures
  • Carry out tasks effectively using computerized system
  • Inform guests of any additional services available within the hotel in order to maximize sales
  • Ensure all charges are posted correctly to room bills
  • Answer telephone quickly and deal with caller in a warm and welcoming manner
  • Correctly take messages for guests and staff, ensuring that time, date, message, from/to are initialled and noted
  • Record information in the logbook daily

Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • Formal qualification in hospitality management
  • At least 2+ years experience in a high-end hotel/resort
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Knowledge of working practices of sales
  • Reasonable knowledge of computer systems
  • Ability to cope with pressure
  • Good interpersonal skills required
  • Knowledge of relevant quest satisfaction standards
