About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Temp Quality Engineer: Electrical to join our team in South Africa. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will be responsible for ensuring that motor vehicle components perform consistently to specification throughout their life cycle. With your strong technical knowledge and analytical skills, you will play a critical role in implementing continuous improvement initiatives and driving quality excellence across our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that motor vehicle components perform consistently to specification throughout their life cycle
- Initiate and manage the qualifying program for new part introduction
- Implement continuous improvement by identifying the root cause of part deviation from specification and correcting the deviation in all phases of the part’s life cycle
- Test and evaluate the performance of parts according to the specification
- Provide technical expertise for complete parts with respect to material and function
- Initiate design improvements for complex problems with electrical parts and harnesses
Requirements
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in the manufacturing environment
- In-depth knowledge of applicable motor vehicle parts, their function, applicable specifications, part manufacturing processes, and testing methods
- Sound technical knowledge of motor vehicle harnesses and electrical components
- Knowledge and application of quality tools, e.g. DOE, SPC, FMEA, 8D
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and related specifications
- Strong analytical ability
- Computer literate (MS Office)
- Ability to effectively communicate and present to all levels within the company and externally (written and verbally)
- Ability to work independently
