About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Marine Superintendent to join our Lucky Star Operations team. As a key member of our marine superintendence, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vessels. You will be responsible for overseeing maintenance, compliance with regulations, and optimizing vessel performance to support our company’s maritime operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that company maintenance philosophy, policies and procedures are implemented and maintained on vessels;
- Documentation and adherence to prescribed Maintenance systems;
- Ensuring optimum vessel utilization in terms of maintenance support;
- Ensuring minimum downtime of vessels and equipment;
- Ensuring maintenance costs are within budget;
- no wastage by engineering staff;
- Identify training and development needs;
- Optimise vessel fuel consumption and lube oil usage;
- Assistance and support in learner ship programs for new recruits;
- Ensuring the availability and accuracy of maintenance and technical data and information;
- Ensuring vessel overall technical performance, vessel availability and utilization;
Requirements
- Marine Engineering Certificate OR equivalent or qualified Diesel Mechanic or Electrician;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in superintendent’s position;
- Tertiary qualification in Marine Engineering (or studying towards) or Diesel Mechanic or Electrician is desirable;
- Experience in fishing industry will be an advantage;
- Computer literacy (MS Office);
- SAP exposure will be an advantage;
