About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Stellenbosch. As a Junior QS, you will play a crucial role in supporting development and investment teams with measurement, cost analysis, and financial inputs from feasibility to construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with feasibility costing, budget inputs, and market benchmarking for development viability.
- Perform measurements, support cost plans/BOQs, and contribute to value engineering.
- Help with procurement, tender evaluations, contractor claims, and payment recommendations.
- Support construction cost control through monitoring, reporting, cash flow tracking, and risk identification.
- Assist with tenant installation costing, JBCC contract administration, and maintaining accurate project documentation.
Requirements
- National Diploma in Building/Quantity Surveying or equivalent (minimum ND Building/QS)
- 1 -2 years post-qualification experience (construction or development environment)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with the Standard System of Measuring Building Work
- Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings
- Strong understanding of construction processes and sequencing
- Knowledge of JBCC contract principles (working knowledge acceptable at junior level)
