About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to join our award-winning five-star luxury boutique game lodge as Head Chef. As part of our team, you will be responsible for creating exquisite fine dining experiences for our discerning guests, while also ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and restaurant.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and prepare menus for formal candlelit dinners, personalised bush dinners, delicately plated sundowner snacks, mid-morning canapes, game drive snacks, and plated breakfasts fit for a king.
Manage and train a team of chefs to ensure high-quality food presentation and service.
Source and purchase fresh ingredients from local suppliers.
Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and safety.
Develop and implement new menu ideas and dishes.
Supervise and coordinate special events and functions.

Requirements

Grade 12 and formal Chefs qualification (minimum)
Minimum of 3-5 years experience working in 5-star establishments or top awarded restaurants.
Proven culinary creativity and innovation.
Strong decision-making, organisation, and leadership skills.
Ability to consider the business aspects and cost control when creating new dishes.

Qualifications

Completed formal Chefs qualification (Grade 12)
