• Tertiary qualification in
  • Business Administration
  • Commerce
  • Transport Management
  • Or equivalent
• 5-8 Years Experience
• 3 Years Experience in unionized Environment
• Experience in Passenger Transport Industry (especially bus and coach Sector)
• Good Track record in General Management
• Microsoft Excel
• Microsoft Word
• Key financial management principles and procedures
• Knowledge of Human resources practices
• Knowledge of competitive marketing principles
• Knowledge of technical and engineering practices
• Knowledge of the bus operations processes and systems
• Diagnostics Ability
• Good Reporting Skills
• Sharp business acumen

Responsibilities

Perform General Management and control functions of the activities of the Business Unit including but not limited to:

• Develop, propose and advise on the companys adoption of BU strategies and policies that are consistent with internal and external needs.
• Ensure profitability of the BUs through sound financial management principles and practices.
• Overseeing and optimizing resources in the planning and scheduling of bus operations to ensure the smooth running of services provided to the community
• Oversee and ensure efficient utilization of resources in the scheduling and execution of overall maintenance plan for the buses in the BU
• Oversee effective utilization of stagging in the BU
• Development and ensure implementation of a marketing strategy to grow existing services and to attract new business.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation applicable to the industry such as but not limited to, the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Job Involves Long Hours and fair amount of stress
