Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance activities at our clients facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the overall safety, reliability, and efficiency of their equipment and facilities. This individual will lead a team of maintenance technicians and coordinate maintenance schedules, preventative maintenance programs, and equipment repairs. The Maintenance Manager will also be responsible for managing the maintenance budget and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for equipment, supervision, compliance, reliability, uptime, and ensuring regulatory requirements.
  • Maintenance owner in the TPM management system and updating reports.
  • Manage the Defect Handling Process at the Northriding Plant.
  • Provide maintenance reporting information to Ophirton PM pillar.
  • Attend monthly PM Pillar meetings at Ophirton Plant.
  • Implement PM pillar systems on relevant AM zones, including Breakdown Reduction, Equipment Criticality, Capability Building, Lubrication Management, Visual Controls, Work Management, and Storeroom Management.
  • Develop and implement a critical spares plan to reduce machine downtime while maintaining correct spares levels.
  • Attend to breakdowns and equipment failures promptly.
  • Assess risks related to maintenance operations and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Establish contingency plans for unexpected equipment failures or emergencies.
  • Ensure associates report identified problems with the food safety management system.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification Millwright or diploma.
  • Five years of experience in engineering and maintenance of food/bakery processing.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing systems, process controls, and instrumentation required.
  • Project management skills.
  • Five years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, including knowledge of refrigeration, plumbing, industrial electrical and mechanical systems, and maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation processes/procedures, and HACCP.
  • Knowledge of efficient and safe manufacturing operations, including product and associate safety, OSHA standards, product quality, cost control, and yield optimization.
  • Ability to direct, coach, and train associates as well as plan, monitor, and schedule work.
  • Problem analysis and resolution skills.
  • Mechanical and spatial aptitude, including the ability to disassemble and reassemble equipment.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • GMR 2.1 appointed in a previous role.
  • GCC certification advantageous.
