Job Summary
Responsibilities:
1. Machining & Toolmaking Operate conventional and CNC lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders to manufacture and repair mould components. Ensure precision machining to meet tight tolerances for injection and blow moulding tools. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to produce accurate components. Use measuring instruments (micrometers, verniers, gauges) to verify dimensions and ensure quality control. 2. Mould Maintenance & Repair Inspect, diagnose, and repair moulds used in injection and blow moulding processes. Disassemble, clean, and reassemble moulds as part of routine maintenance. Modify and rework existing moulds as per production requirements. Troubleshoot tooling issues to minimize downtime and ensure efficient production. 3. Quality & Compliance Ensure all machining and repairs meet industry and company quality standards. Adhere to safety regulations and company procedures when handling machinery and tools. Maintain proper documentation for all tooling modifications, repairs, and maintenance. Work closely with the production team to ensure moulds are operating correctly and efficiently. 4. General Toolroom Duties Maintain an organized and clean work area, following 5S and lean manufacturing principles. Assist in ordering and managing raw materials, spare parts, and consumables for the toolroom. Collaborate with engineers, mould setters, and production staff to improve mould performance and longevity. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency. Qualifications & Experience: Trade Certificate/Diploma in Toolmaking, Fitting & Turning, or related field. Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Turner in a toolroom environment. Strong knowledge of injection and blow moulding tool maintenance and machining. Proficiency in manual and CNC machining techniques. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Experience in precision machining and tool finishing techniques. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of safety and quality standards in a manufacturing environment. Key Competencies: Attention to detail and high accuracy in machining. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time management skills. Good communication skills to liaise with engineers and production staff. Willingness to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
