Job Summary
Cape Town – Western Cape – South Africa
- Develop and implement the overall IT strategy aligned with the organization`s business goals.
- Ensure that technology initiatives support and enhance the overall business strategy.
- Oversee the development and implementation of strategies to protect the organization`s information assets. This includes Cybersecurity measures, data privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards.
- Ensure that IT practices align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Provide guidance on IT governance to support overall corporate governance.
- Lead efforts to leverage technology for digital transformation. Identify opportunities to use technology to improve business processes, enhance customer experiences, and drive innovation.
- Ensure that end-users receive adequate support and training to effectively use IT systems.
- Address user concerns and feedback to improve the overall user experience.
- Develop and maintain plans to ensure business continuity in the event of IT disruptions or disasters.
- Implement strategies to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Grade 12 or similar qualification is essential.
- BSc/BA in Computer Science or related field.
- 5 Years as a CIO with strategic alignment.
- Minimum 5 years IT work experience required.
- Minimum 3 years of leadership and managerial skills.
- Computer literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel at an Advanced level.
- Fluent and proficient in English, additional language(s).
- Excellent Communication skills and the ability to interact with users and explain technical concepts in a clear manner.
- Function well under pressure, time management, problem-solving and creativity, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as the ability to work well in a team and collaborate with other IT professionals.
- Have professional presentation and approach, detail orientated, high ethical standards, a desire to learn and the ability to work to strict deadlines.
