Hire Resolve`s Client is seeking an experienced HAVC/ Refrigeration Technician to join their growing team in George, Western Cape.

Responsibilities:

1. Installation & Setup

   • Install HVAC and refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and related components.

   • Ensure proper electrical connections and refrigerant charging.

   • Follow blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer specifications.

2. Maintenance & Inspection

   • Perform routine maintenance to ensure system efficiency.

   • Clean and replace filters, coils, and fans.

   • Check for leaks, worn-out parts, and system malfunctions.

3. Repairs & Troubleshooting

   • Diagnose issues with HVAC and refrigeration units.

   • Repair or replace defective components such as motors, thermostats, and compressors.

   • Test system performance after repairs.

4. Refrigerant Handling

   • Handle refrigerants according to EPA regulations.

   • Recover and recharge refrigerant gases safely.

5. Customer Service & Documentation

   • Communicate with customers about maintenance schedules and repairs.

   • Keep records of inspections, repairs, and replacements.

   • Provide cost estimates for repairs and installations.

6. Safety & Compliance

   • Adhere to safety standards and regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).

   • Follow proper procedures for hazardous materials and electrical work.

Requirements:

1. Education & Certification

   • High school diploma or GED.

   • HVAC/R certification or diploma from a trade school preferred.

   • EPA Section 608 Certification (for refrigerant handling).

   • Additional certifications (e.g., NATE, R-410A safety, OSHA 10/30) are a plus.

2. Experience

   • 15 years of experience in HVAC or refrigeration (depending on job level).

   • Knowledge of different HVAC systems (residential, commercial, industrial).

3. Technical Skills

   • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.

   • Proficiency with tools like gauges, welding equipment, and multimeters.

   • Understanding of electrical wiring, plumbing, and refrigeration cycles.

4. Physical & Work Requirements

   • Ability to lift heavy equipment (50+ lbs).

   • Work in extreme temperatures and confined spaces.

   • Travel to different job sites and be on-call for emergencies.

5. Soft Skills

   • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

   • Good communication and customer service skills.

   • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
