Software Release Engineer required in Sandton and will be responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of software releases and deployments within the company. This role assists in the successful delivery of software changes into production environments while maintaining the stability and integrity of IT systems.

• Assist in developing release plans, schedules, and deployment strategies for software releases, updates, and patches.
• Collaborate with senior release managers and project teams to define release milestones, dependencies, and success criteria.
• Contribute to aligning release activities with project timelines, business objectives, and stakeholder expectations.
• Support change management processes and governance frameworks for managing software releases.
• Assist in coordinating change advisory board (CAB) meetings and activities to review and approve release plans.
• Ensure compliance with change management policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements during release activities.
• Assist in coordinating deployment activities for planned releases, including scheduling, resource coordination, and communication.
• Collaborate with technical teams to facilitate deployment tasks, oversee deployment activities, and monitor progress.
• Help troubleshoot deployment-related incidents and coordinate resolution efforts as needed.
• Maintain release documentation, including release notes, deployment instructions, and version control information.
• Prepare status reports, release metrics, and performance indicators to track the progress and success of release activities.
• Contribute to post-implementation reviews, retrospectives, and lessons learned sessions to capture feedback and drive continuous improvement.
• Assist in communicating release schedules, status updates, and deployment outcomes to stakeholders, project teams, and business units.
• Participate in stakeholder meetings, workshops, and training sessions to gather requirements and address concerns related to release activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and priorities.
• Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback, refine requirements, and deliver impactful integration solutions.

• Bachelors degree in information technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or a Business Administration, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL).
• 5+ years of experience in IT release management, change management, or related roles.
• Familiarity with release management processes, tools, and best practices.
• Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret technical data, derive insights, and make data-driven decisions.
• Experience with release management tools (e.g., Jira, GitLab, Jenkins, or similar).
• Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN) and configuration management practices.
• Automated Deployment release pipeline experience.
