Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking an Experienced Travel Expert to join a leading luxury travel company. This is a remote-based position in Cape Town, offering the opportunity to design and sell high-end, tailor-made itineraries across Southern and East Africa, as well as other bucket-list destinations.

This role is ideal for a seasoned travel consultant with deep destination knowledge, outstanding communication skills, and a proven track record in bespoke itinerary planning and high-level customer service.

Key

Responsibilities:

• Create high-quality, customized itineraries tailored to a wide range of traveler profiles

• Manage the full sales process: itinerary planning, costing, refinement, confirmation, and post-travel engagement

• Convert warm leads through email, telephone, and video consultations

• Present detailed, compelling travel proposals with supporting information and expert guidance

• Deliver top-tier client service throughout the booking journey to foster repeat and referral business

• Proactively expand product knowledge and stay updated on industry trends and developments

• Maintain current commercial knowledge of properties, flight options, and logistical planning

• Build strong relationships with colleagues and trade partners while contributing to a positive team culture

• Participate in regular research trips to maintain firsthand destination expertise

Essential Experience and Skills:

• Minimum of 4 years experience in a tailor-made travel consultant role

• Proven experience designing complex itineraries in Southern and East Africa

• First-hand travel knowledge of key destinations within sub-Saharan Africa

• Demonstrated success in a target-driven sales environment

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• High attention to detail with exceptional customer service standards

• Strong IT skills and comfort with digital communication tools

• Well-organized with strong time management abilities

• Results-driven and proactive work ethic

Desired:

• Knowledge of the Indian Ocean and Indian Subcontinent

• Experience with GDS/flight operating systems

Working Hours:

• Monday to Friday 40 hours per week
