Job Summary
Salary:
R10,000 R12,000 (Negotiable DOE)
Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking a dedicated Assistant Lodge Manager for a luxury lodge situated in Vaalwater. This exciting role offers the opportunity to be part of a high-end safari operation, supporting daily lodge management and ensuring exceptional guest experiences.
This position has a particular emphasis on back-of-house operations, while also maintaining responsibilities in front-of-house guest interaction, working closely with the Lodge Manager to ensure seamless operations across all departments.
Key
Responsibilities:

Support the Lodge Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations of the lodge
-
Coordinate and supervise housekeeping, kitchen, maintenance, and front-of-house teams
-
Ensure that all guest experiences meet the lodges high service standards
-
Handle guest check-ins, check-outs, hosting duties, and guest relations
-
Maintain lodge facilities and ensure all departments operate efficiently
-
Monitor inventory and procurement of supplies and equipment
-
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards across departments
-
Assist with staff training and mentoring, encouraging a strong team culture
-
Perform administrative duties including reports, staff scheduling, and stock control
-
Step in for Lodge Manager when required
Requirements:
-
Previous experience in a similar role at a high-end lodge or hospitality property
-
Strong back-of-house operational skills, including stock management and logistics
-
Confident and professional guest-facing demeanor
-
Excellent communication and organizational abilities
-
Strong leadership and team supervision experience
-
Computer literate (MS Office; reservations systems a plus)
-
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays

A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to multitask effectively
