An established client in the power generation and heavy industrial sector is seeking a Quantity Surveyor Lead for a limited duration contract of 6 months in JHB North.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned professional with extensive experience in both Quantity Surveying and post-award contract management to join a high-impact team delivering large-scale infrastructure and energy projects.

As the Quantity Surveyor Lead, you`ll be responsible for the commercial and contractual administration of complex projects, focusing on compliance, risk mitigation, financial reporting, and dispute management. The role requires hands-on involvement with NEC3 (TSC, ECC, SC), FIDIC Red Book, and bespoke contracts, particularly within environments such as coal-fired power plants, paper mills, or industrial boilers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage post-award contract execution, ensuring adherence to all terms and conditions
• Administer claims (EOT, loss & expense), variations, and compensation events
• Oversee cost control, budget tracking, and payment certification processes
• Lead correspondence and resolution of contractual disputes
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure contract deliverables are met

Requirements

• National Diploma, B-Tech or Degree in Quantity Surveying or related Built Environment discipline
• Minimum 10 years` experience: 5+ years in Quantity Surveying + 5+ in contract management
• Proficient with NEC3, FIDIC Red Book, and bespoke contracts
• Solid experience in heavy industrial or power generation sectors (boilers, mills, etc.)
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication for contract drafting and reporting
