Job Summary
- Grade 12
- Supply Chain, Logistics, Road Transport Diploma or Degree
- At least 5 years of similar experience
- Proficient with MS Office and Transport Management Systems (Blue Jay, Xtreme etc)
- Ability to Plan & Schedule Transport Requirements for Imports and Export
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive and accept tenders daily on Blue Jay or manually
- Plan and Schedule immediately the accepted tenders/loads onto Xtreme
- Plan and Allocate loads to drivers and trucks ensuring loads are allocated to relevant drivers per vehicle per region per fleet allocation.
- Plan and Schedule return loads simultaneously.
- Plan and Authorise Routes, Stops and Alternate Routes in advance.
- Provide feedback to clients timeously
- Update TMS with load status
- Update Drivers and vehicle details
- Monitor Drivers
- Ensure POD’s are received and uploaded
- Manage Truck Drivers
- Monitoring and Tracking daily operations and providing hourly updates to both Clients and internal Management Team.
- Refer Vehicle breakdowns timeously to Assistant Ops Admin Manager and Workshop.
- Ensure all incidents / accidents are procedurally documented and reported to Management.
- Ensure daily recon of Diesel Consumption and Toll Fees are captured on Xtreme.
- Ensure daily timekeeping and attendance is maintained and updated via ESS and Ouch Labour Operating systems.
- Ensure daily and monthly sales targets are achieved.
- Ensure all loads are tracked live from the central control room
- Ensure all POD’s are uploaded into TMS immediately upon completion of a load.
- Ensure that the planned movement of vehicles is updated on the transport plan on TMS live and that the control room has the plan.
- Ensure that site security has a plan of all vehicle planned movements after hours or over weekend.
- Any vehicle under load that wants to depart any depot after hours or on weekends must be cleared with the control room by the relevant site security.
