Job Summary

Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required:
- Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-10 years of experience in CAD design within the shipbuilding or marine sector.
- Proficiency in CAD Software: Expertise in using CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino, or CATIA for ship design and modelling.
- Location Requirement: Candidates should either be South African residents currently living in the Netherlands or South Africans willing to relocate to the Netherlands.
- Fluency in Afrikaans (both written and spoken).
Beneficial requirements:
- Knowledge of Shipbuilding Standards: Familiarity with maritime regulations, classification societies (e.g., ABS, DNV GL), and industry safety standards.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on precision and accuracy in design.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Design & Drafting: Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and technical drawings for ship components, including the hull, deck, propulsion systems, and interior layouts.
- Collaboration with Engineers: Work closely with naval architects, structural engineers, and other design teams to ensure integration of all ship systems and components.
- Design Modifications: Revise and update CAD designs based on feedback from project teams, testing, or changes in project scope.
- Compliance with Standards: Ensure that all designs comply with marine industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of CAD files, design modifications, and technical specifications for construction and regulatory purposes.
