Job Summary
Join a leading innovator in security ink technologies, currently based in Linbro Park and relocating to Pretoria in September 2025. The company supplies advanced anti-counterfeiting inks and systems and is looking for a Laboratory Technician to support manufacturing, packaging, quality control, and client technical service. A Grade 12 qualification and a technical diploma or degree in quality assurance are required, along with knowledge of ink formulation, colour matching, basic printing processes, and QA testing methods. The role also involves internal ISO audits and basic First Aid/Fire Fighting responsibilities. Requirements:
- Gr12 & BSc Chemistry or similar
- 1 to 2 years practical experience (Laboratory and technical work in ink industry experience an advantage)

- Ink formulating and colour matching techniques.
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance Test methods.
- Basic knowledge of printing.
- Good knowledge of printing processes (Litho-Offset, Intaglio (or Gravure), Letterpress, Screen and Flexographic).
- Technical knowledge of security ink and printing products
Duties:
- Perform colour matching and manage quality assurance processes
- Maintain and manage Master Cards
- Check and verify Bill of Materials for accuracy
- Correct and close out Corrective Action Requests
- Assist with production planning using SAP
- Issue job cards to production team
- Check stock availability for job card materials
- Monitor and track customer deadlines
- Resolve ink-related issues in production
- Liaise between clients and production regarding potential issues
- Provide technical service and problem-solving for clients
- Coordinate and support new product trials
- Conduct stock counts and reconcile inventory
- Investigate and resolve stock variances
- Assist in identifying training needs and developing staff skills
- Respond to medical and fire emergencies as needed
- Apply first aid or firefighting measures when required
