Job Summary
Location: Pretoria East
Our client, an underwriting management agency specialising in the following niche areas of insurance; aviation, hcv & commercial, lifestyle, personal accident and renewable energy. Requires a Portfolio Manager (HCV & Commercial) to build and preserve trusting relationships with their customers.

Qualifications & Experience:
• 3 years’ experience as a broker consultant / portfolio manager
• Experience in working with HCV and Commercial products
• NQF Level 4: Short-Term Commercial Lines 60 Credits
• Successfully completed the RE 5 Examination Level 1
Key Responsibilities
• To find ways to outperform our competition and maintain our company’s positive image.
• Excellent communicator.
• Able to work with underwriters and build rapport with short term insurance brokers.
• A strategic thinker with an analytical mind.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Maintain strong relationships with our brokers.
• Boost our brand and profits in the long run.
• Call on existing Financial intermediaries.
• To canvass new Financial Intermediaries specializing in Heavy commercial and commercial business.
• Ensuring that risks are written within the company’s risk appetite and complies within the reinsurance treaties and internal mandates.
• Monitoring and taking corrective action on badly performing risks.
• Maintain an acceptable loss ratio.
• Maintain policy wording drafts and ensure that the product remains competitive with market offering.
• Dealing with day to day queries and amendments to existing policies.
• Providing brokers with advice.
• Maintaining and building good customer relationships with brokers.
• Conducting product training to brokers.
• Provide input into building and designing various aspects of the products on a designated system.
• Provide comparisons between the competitors’ products.
