Job Summary
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years administering Apache Kafka in production.
- Strong practical knowledge of:
- Kafka internals (replication, ISR, consumer group rebalancing, etc.)
- Kafka Connect and Schema Registry
- Kafka provisioning using Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes (Strimzi Operator)
- Kafka security protocols (SASL/SCRAM, TLS, ACLs)
- Monitoring via Prometheus, Grafana, or Confluent Control Center
- Experience with:
- Large-scale performance tuning and load testing
- Backup and disaster recovery mechanisms (mirror-maker, multi-region replication)
- Schema management using Protobuf
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
? Technical Requirements:
- Design scalable Kafka clusters (brokers, topics, Zookeeper/Quorum, retention strategies).
- Build Kafka infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible).
- Deploy Kafka, Kafka Connect, Schema Registry in secure, observable environments.
- Design and implement secure authentication & authorization mechanisms.
- Set up monitoring, alerting, and incident response systems.
- Create data pipelines using Kafka Connect (source & sink connectors).
- Integrate producers and consumers across microservices, Spark, Trino, and MinIO.
- Perform performance tuning and resilience testing (load, failover, soak).
- Own go-live planning, cutover support, and post-production operations.
- Develop runbooks, support guides, and transfer knowledge to operational teams.
