Duties:
- Drive finance solutions that support business objectives, ensuring accurate and timely general ledger reconciliations, balance sheet entries, and financial reporting in line with IFRS standards. Analyse reports to identify risks, opportunities, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Maintain and update budget and forecast models, track expenditures, and proactively engage with business units to optimise cost efficiency and operational performance.
- Deliver consistent, high-quality financial service to internal and external clients. Resolve queries promptly, provide expert guidance, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to enhance client satisfaction.
- Implement and maintain robust financial controls, ensure accurate documentation for audits, and manage VAT, tax, and other statutory reporting requirements within timelines.
- Maintain fixed asset register, manage additions, disposals, and reconciliations, and ensure cashbook accuracy, resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Build productive relationships with peers and stakeholders, contribute to change initiatives, share innovative ideas, and actively support team goals.
- Take ownership of personal development, manage time effectively, and consistently pursue targets while driving efficiency and process improvements across financial operations.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Accountancy or an equivalent accounting qualification.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the financial services industry.
- 3–5 years’ experience is preferred and considered advantageous.
Skills & Competencies:
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of business operations, key challenges, and risks, and how these influence commercial success and profitability.
- Works across divisions to align efforts, prioritising the overall success of the organisation while fostering a cooperative work environment.
- Proactively anticipates and meets client needs, building lasting relationships that enhance client value, financial wellness, and ensure a client-centric approach.
- Effectively convinces, inspires, and motivates others internally and externally, gaining support and commitment to organisational objectives.
- Maintains a strong focus on execution, accountability, and agility, driving initiatives to achieve measurable business outcomes.
- Manages self and interpersonal relationships effectively, navigating ambiguity and pressure with perspective and composure.
- Respects and values cultural and individual differences, fostering an inclusive environment and engaging diverse perspectives for mutual benefit.
