<p>Our client is seeking an experienced and passionate Resort General Manager to lead the operations of a well-established four-star resort that combines leisure, conferencing, and hospitality excellence. The property features beautifully landscaped grounds, on-site dining and bar offerings, modern conferencing facilities, and an array of outdoor leisure activities such as boating, cycling, fishing, and family-centered recreation. The resort is a popular destination for both domestic and international travelers, including families, tour groups, and event organizers.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><br>- Provide overall leadership and operational direction across all departments, including front office, housekeeping, F&B, conferencing, and leisure/entertainment services.<br>- Drive exceptional guest experiences, with a focus on maintaining a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere.<br>- Oversee the planning and execution of seasonal leisure programs and entertainment activities designed to appeal to a broad marketincluding school holiday initiatives, outdoor family activities, and childrens programming.<br>- Personally engage in select guest entertainment or social experiences where appropriate, maintaining a visible and approachable management style.<br>- Ensure seamless delivery of conferences, meetings, and leisure group events in collaboration with sales, banqueting, and AV teams.<br>- Manage budgeting, financial controls, and cost efficiency in line with group objectives and KPIs.<br>- Monitor guest satisfaction and lead service recovery initiatives where required.<br>- Develop and mentor departmental heads and team members to deliver high standards and foster a strong service culture.</p><p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li><p>SA Citizen</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Matric / Grade 12 qualification</p></li><li><p>Hospitality Management Diploma / Degree</p></li><li><p>Minimum 3 – 5 years of senior resort or hotel management experience, ideally in a leisure-driven property with conferencing capabilities.</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated experience in managing family-friendly or leisure-focused hospitality operations, with a deep understanding of guest engagement programming.</p></li><li><p>Strong financial and commercial acumen with the ability to interpret P&Ls, manage payroll, and optimise operational expenditure.</p></li><li><p>A hands-on leader with strong interpersonal skills, capable of engaging comfortably with guests, staff, and external stakeholders.</p></li><li><p>Comfortable participating in and supporting resort activities, entertainment, and guest-facing programs that enhance the guest experience.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of guest experience platforms and leisure programming (e.g. school holiday activities, themed weekends, local excursions) is advantageous.</p></li><li><p>High emotional intelligence, diplomacy, and the ability to lead diverse teams in a dynamic environment</p></li></ul>
