Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will prepare accurate cost estimates, support competitive bidding, and aid in profitable business decisions. A strong understanding of construction projects, market rates, and tendering processes is required.
 
 
Key Responsibilities:
·        Review and understand bid documents before pricing and communicate relevant information to junior staff.
·        Complete the risk matrix for each bid document and present it to the Head of Department (HOD).
·        Prepare commercial viability assessments in line with the competition and present them to the HOD.
·        Prepare a bid estimate using Candy Construction Software (CCS) based on market rates within the timeframes outlined in the bid documents. This estimate should include civils, roads, earthworks, services (water and sewer), general building, and facilities maintenance.
·        Review Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for accuracy in pricing in consultation with relevant HODs.
·        Ensure compliance with the bid process and tendering procedures.
·        Assist tender administrators in preparing tender proposals.
·        Attend rate negotiations with clients.
·        Supervise tender officers.
·        Finalize tender documents in collaboration with senior management.
·        Be prepared to travel throughout the country as required.
 
 
Qualifications and Experience:
·        Bachelor’s Degree or B.Tech in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
·        A minimum of 8 years of experience as an estimator within the civil and construction industry.
·        Strong understanding of tendering procedures and processes.
·        Proven track record of preparing competitive bids and managing large-scale projects.
 
 
Job-Related Experience:
·        Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
·        Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
·        Strong knowledge of CCS (Candy) or similar estimating software.
·        Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Project) and other relevant software tools.
·        Valid driver’s license.
