An exclusive 5-star luxury hotel in Cape Town is seeking an experienced and guest-focused Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to support the leadership and day-to-day operations of the hotels dining outlets. This role requires a hands-on, service-driven professional who thrives in a refined environment and can ensure that guests receive exceptional culinary and beverage experiences while upholding world-class service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Food & Beverage Manager with daily operations across all F&B outlets, including restaurants, bars, and in-room dining

• Lead, train, and motivate a team to deliver consistently high levels of service aligned with 5-star standards

• Oversee stock control, cost management, and supplier relationships to maximise operational efficiency

• Maintain strict compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations

• Manage guest feedback, resolve service challenges, and ensure personalised, memorable dining experiences

• Support menu development, wine pairing initiatives, and promotional activations in collaboration with the culinary team

• Monitor operational budgets and assist in achieving revenue and profit targets

Skills & Requirements

• Minimum 35 years experience in a leadership role within a 4- or 5-star hospitality environment

• Strong knowledge of food, wine, and beverage trends, with WSET or similar certification advantageous

• Proficiency in property management and POS systems (Opera PMS, Micros, or similar)

• Exceptional leadership, training, and team development skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities

• A guest-first approach with meticulous attention to detail and service delivery
