MANUFACTURING AND PROCUREMENT FINANCIAL MANAGER
FINANCE
The Financial Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the financial aspects of the company’s Manufacturing and Procurement activities. This role involves working closely with other departments such as logistics and inventory management to ensure financial efficiency, cost optimization, and accurate financial reporting.

Job Purpose:
The Supply Chain Financial Manager is responsible for ensuring financial accountability and profitability within the supply chain. This role involves analysing and managing costs, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and implementing financial controls to support efficient supply chain operations. The position collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain financial performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop and manage procurement and manufacturing budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Monitor and analyse financial performance and identify trends, cost drivers, and areas for improvement. Conduct cost-benefit analysis to evaluate potential investments and decisions.
• Cost Management and Optimization: Identify areas for cost savings and implement initiatives to optimize production costs, manage working capital and improve liquidity. Identify Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives for Sites
• Financial Reporting & Compliance: Prepare and present regular financial reports, including variance analysis, to senior management. Ensure financial data accuracy and adherence to accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Provide actionable insights and recommendations for financial decision-making. Track daily, weekly and monthly reporting KPI’s Alignment with daily productivity reporting for KPI and financial results. Productivity reporting from total cost of manufacturing and labour productivity (Fixed, Variable and Absorption)
• Inventory Management & Cash Flow: Work closely with inventory management teams to monitor and control inventory costs and quantities. Ensure inventory levels are optimized to avoid overstocking or stockouts while maintaining cost efficiency. Support cash flow management by analysing working capital requirements. Ensure proper stock take processes are performed accurately.
• Strategic Decision Support: Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making, including investments in new machinery, technology, and factory expansions Collaborate with various departments to develop financial strategies that align with manufacturing and procurement goals.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, including exchange rate fluctuations, supplier risks, and economic downturns. Document and review Standard Operating Processes and ensure compliance to business best practice.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Professional certifications (CA or CIMA)
Experience: At least 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing finance or procurement finance roles. Proven experience with financial analysis, budgeting, and cost management.
Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modelling skills. Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Excel). Knowledge of supply chain processes, cost structures and best practices. Excellent communication and presentation skills to report findings and recommendations to senior management. Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Personal Attributes: Strategic thinking with a strong understanding of financial and operational efficiency. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead financial initiatives within the supply chain. Proactive in identifying financial risks and opportunities for process improvement.
Additional Information:
Fully office based position, with travel to locations in Boksburg, Durban, Cape Town and East London.
