Job Description
The Millwright will be responsible for performing mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installations on industrial machinery and equipment to ensure optimal plant performance. This temporary role is intended for three months, with the possibility of extension based on project needs and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, compressors, and other rotating equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults to minimize downtime.
- Install, align, and commission new machinery and equipment.
- Fabricate and assemble mechanical components as required.
- Conduct routine inspections and complete maintenance reports accurately.
- Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental regulations and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Collaborate with electricians, fitters, and production teams to support efficient plant operations.
- Participate in planned shutdowns, maintenance turnarounds, and project-related activities.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe, clean, and serviceable condition.
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified Millwright (Red Seal Trade Test Certificate essential).
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant industrial maintenance experience (manufacturing, mining, FMCG, or heavy industry preferred).
- Proven experience in mechanical fault finding, hydraulics, pneumatics, and plant machinery maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of PLC systems and electrical principles will be advantageous.
- Strong adherence to safety protocols and ability to work under pressure.
