Start Date: As soon as possible Position Overview An exceptional opportunity has become available for an experienced and emotionally intelligent Operations Manager to join a globally recognised luxury wellness retreat in the Franschhoek valley. This is a high-touch, detail-driven leadership role requiring a rare balance of operational precision, intuitive leadership, and world-class guest experience delivery . The successful candidate will oversee all hospitality operations and act as the central link between departments, ensuring the smooth, soulful, and seamless flow of daily guest experiences. The environment is highly specialised guests come from across the world seeking tranquillity, connection, and conscious living and therefore requires a leader who is polished, globally exposed, and deeply aligned with values of intentional hospitality, regeneration, and excellence. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Lead and oversee all hospitality operations including Housekeeping, Guest Services, Wellness, Food & Beverage, and Programming. Manage team flow, scheduling, and task prioritisation to ensure efficient and graceful daily operations. Implement and refine SOPs, systems, and quality control processes to maintain consistency and operational excellence. Translate strategic direction from leadership into clear, practical daily execution. Anticipate challenges and resolve issues calmly, maintaining the atmosphere of balance and professionalism expected of a high-end wellness environment. Team & Culture Stewardship Guide and mentor department leads to ensure cohesive communication and collaboration across teams. Foster an emotionally intelligent, respectful, and accountable workplace culture. Balance structure and flexibility, ensuring systems support not stifle creativity and care. Hold space for team alignment with the retreats values, rhythms, and guest journey philosophy. Guest Journey Management Oversee the full guest experience from pre-arrival communication to post-departure follow-up. Ensure that service delivery exceeds international five-star standards while maintaining the retreats authenticity and heart. Engage directly with guests when required, handling special requests or sensitive matters with grace and composure. Systems; Reporting & Administration Maintain and optimise operational systems, budgets, and reporting structures. Manage communication flow between departments to ensure clarity, consistency, and accountability. Support the CEO and founders by translating the brand vision into operational excellence. Ideal Candidate Profile We are seeking a professional with: Minimum 5 years experience in luxury hospitality, wellness, or retreat management. Proven exposure to international standards of service and guest engagement. Strong operational leadership skills with the ability to build, refine, and implement systems and SOPs. Exceptional communication skills and emotional intelligence. Hands-on; humble leadership style capable of both strategic oversight and practical support. Calm under pressure, adaptable, and solutions-oriented. Technically proficient (Microsoft Suite, scheduling and reporting tools). Deep personal alignment with values of sustainability, mindfulness, regeneration, and conscious living. Legal eligibility to work in South Africa.
