Job Description

Suitably qualified persons are required to sumit applications for the position of Finance Manager: Shared Services Centre for the Durban-based Head Office of an international FMCG company. The position reports to the Financial Controller. The successful incumbent will be responsible for providing high quality, efficient processing of transactional activities within the finance function; provide a deep understanding of transactional processes, strong customer services approach and application of good governance as well as identify and execute efficiency initiatives across key processes, activities, tools and capabilities. Key performance areas Manage, plan, direct and co-ordinate the core of the country’s centralised finance function. This includes management of centralised finance resources and transaction volumes; as well as any transactional finance activities at the various sites which operate in a matrix structure Accountable for the delivery performance of the Shared Service Centre in line with agreed service levels and customer satisfaction metrics Lead and guide Order to Cash (Debtors) function for sugar/syrup sales, downstream and sundry debtors. Lead and guide Procure to Pay (Creditors) function, including supplier payments, cane payments and other (i.e., T&E payments) including provision of outsourced services. Lead and guide all Payroll function within finance including provision of outsourced services. Lead and guide the Record to Report function by ensuring that timeous, accurate month end close processes and strong control environment through monitoring control compliance across all sites. Effectively implement Group finance management policies, processes and procedures in the Country relating to Order to Cash; Procure to Pay; Record to Report; and Hire to Retire (Payroll) Perform ad-hoc financial and operational analysis to enable strategic decision-making Ensure that the SSC complies with all governance (policies & procedures) and process controls (i.e. Internal controls), and meets all legal and statutory requirements across the business. Ensure a consistent financial risk management approach across all finance functions by performing regular financial risk reviews. Continuously look for improvements in operational processes, policies and procedures and lead process optimisation, continuous improvement and efficiency projects. Clearly develop and measure/track KPIs and drive strong performance by working closely with the heads of each of the SSC transaction teams and centralised Process Owners Co-ordinate the BBBEEE data request between the various Shared Services teams. Lead, guide and review GHG Reporting, management of internal and external audit requirements, value added projects Lead and guide all technical accounting requirements for the business Responsible for Stock Management processes and reporting across all sites. Responsible for ensuring the SSC teams are suitable trained on existing and new business requirements, policies and procedures. Minimum specifications / requirement areas CA qualification Minimum of 10 years financial management experience in a shared service centre environment. Experience in Consumer Products or FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) environment will be an added advantage. Track record of process optimisation delivering tangible improvements High level of accuracy, attention to detail and analytical ability. Outstanding business analysis skills Excellent accounting and reporting skills. Effective at driving change and driving teams to achieve results across regions and functions. Goal-orientated and committed to delivering quality outputs. Ability to work with people at various levels of the business. Excellent leadership and management skills. Strong verbal / analytical reasoning ability. Excellent interpersonal skills, internal and external. Ability to prioritise, manage complexity and deal with multiple stakeholders. Deliver a customer centric finance function that is able to drive performance delivery and governance compliance throughout the organisation Value alignment to company values
