Electrical Lead Engineer – CenturionEngineering/Technical
Pretoria/Centurion – Gauteng – South Africa

ENVIRONMENT:

The technical expertise of an Electrical Lead Engineer with at least 8 years post-grad Engineering Design experience is sought by a fast-paced provider of cutting-edge Engineering Solutions in Durbanville. Your role will entail Team Leadership, interfacing with clients to help establish and prioritize the utilization of design resources while participating in Electrical Wiring Design (2D, 3D, Schematics) and Integration of Control Modules and directing and guiding Design Engineers on technical-related issues. You must possess a BEng/BSc or BTech Degree in Electrical Engineering with 8-10 years Post-grad Engineering Design experience, preferably wiring design and controller integration in the automotive electrical design environment.

DUTIES:

Team Leadership.
Interface with customers to help establish and prioritize the utilization of design resources.
Delegate work to assigned engineering personnel.
Direct and guide Design Engineers on technical related issues.
Manage project / task timelines to ensure that agreed milestones are reached and to communicate and plan for non-compliance in a timely manner.
Electrical Wiring Design (2D, 3D, Schematics) and Integration of Control Modules.
Take responsibility for the technical soundness and compliance of designs to the customers, and general Engineering practices and standards.
Organise and lead internal design reviews to ensure that designs that are reviewed with the customer are properly checked for soundness and compliance.
Lead design reviews with the customer and suppliers
Perform CAD Design (3D Modelling, Create 2D Drawings, Maintain Bill of materials).
Work inside customer PDM system.
Maintain customer product sales option matrix.
Production Support (Custom Order Engineering Requests).
Design Projects (Medium to long term).
Priority Projects (Short Term).
Administrative (Performance Reviews, Mentorship, Training etc.).

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications

BEng, BSc. or BTech Degree in Electrical Engineering.

Experience/Skills

8-10 Years of Post-graduate Engineering Design experience, preferably wiring design and controller integration in the automotive electrical design environment.
Passionate about automotive engineering and CAD Design.
Excellent written and verbal communication (English).
Computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Be willing to travel overseas for variable periods depending on the particular needs at that time.
