About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Payroll Manager to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll for 2,000 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead our payroll function and drive process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll for 2,000 employees
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with SARS regulations, tax codes, and labor legislation
- Oversee payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting for internal and external stakeholders
- Lead payroll system migrations and upgrades while maintaining and optimizing platforms (Sage/VIP)
- Compile payroll journals, ensure accurate allocation in the General Ledger, and support financial audits with variance analysis
- Act as the primary liaison between HR and Finance, providing guidance on leave policies, benefits, and compensation structures
Requirements
- 10 years of senior payroll experience
- Proven ability to manage multiple payrolls in a high-volume environment
- Strong compliance knowledge and experience
- Leadership experience managing a small support team
Qualifications
- Specialized Payroll Diplomas or Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management
- South African Payroll Association (SAPA) Certification
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
