About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Unit Manager to join our team at Jordan Human Resources in Richards Bay. As a critical care expert with a passion for delivering high-quality patient care, you will be responsible for managing the ICU department’s finances, resources, and staff. With your excellent leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, you will play a key role in driving transformation targets and ensuring governance and quality management standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage financial resources and acuities to ensure cost-effective quality care
  • Ensure correct billing, stock management, and purchasing
  • Implement governance and quality management protocols
  • Conduct risk management activities and monitor patient care
  • Develop and implement transformation targets with the team
  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of nursing staff members
  • Allocate staff members effectively to promote optimal use of resources
  • Build relationships with various stakeholders, including doctors

Requirements

  • Relevant nursing qualification (Diploma in General Nursing or B Cur Degree)
  • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse
  • Post Basic Qualification in Critical Care Nursing (SANC Accredited)
  • Management qualification
  • Minimum of 4-6 years experience in a High Care/ICU environment
  • 2-3 years Managerial experience in a multidisciplinary complex
  • Intermediate level of Computer proficiency

Qualifications

  • Diploma in General Nursing or B Cur Degree from a recognized institution (NQF level 6 or 7)
  • Post Basic Qualification in Critical Care Nursing (SANC Accredited)
