About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Key Accounts Manager to join our team in KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving new business development, managing key accounts, and achieving sales targets in the decorative, automotive, and industrial coatings manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new business development as well as manage all key accounts and principals on a national basis within the decorative, automotive and industrial coatings and related manufacturing markets.
- Maximizing profitability, controlling working capital, growing the portfolio and achieving budgetary objectives for your selected product portfolio.
- Manage principals and introducing new product ranges, concepts and applications to the market.
- Provide technical assistance to customers on a range of products.
- Present and drive a business plan which will include strategies and sales forecasts for annual budgets.
- Manage stock forecasts, debtor and working capital.
- Present reports to senior management.
- Building strong relationships with technical and commercial stakeholders at client organisations.
- Providing expert technical advice and commercial solutions on coatings raw materials.
- Collaborating with R&D and technical service teams to resolve complex technical issues.
- Representing the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and customer meetings.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in chemistry or related qualification is preferred but not essential for the role.
- Previous key account or product management sales experience promoting speciality and commodity raw materials into the decorative, automotive and industrial coatings manufacturing industry is preferred for the role.
- Strong commercial drive, analytical mindset and good interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record of managing strategic accounts and achieving sales targets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field (if applicable)
