About the Role
Hire Resolve’s Client is seeking a detailed-oriented and dynamic Sales/Design Consultant to join their team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a keen eye for design, and a strong sales background. As a Sales/Design Consultant, you will work closely with clients to understand their needs, provide expert advice on kitchen layouts, materials, and finishes, and present design concepts to close sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet with customers to understand their needs, preferences, and budget, providing expert advice on kitchen layouts, materials, and finishes.
- Create functional and stylish kitchen designs using CAD or kitchen design software, ensuring they meet industry trends, space efficiency, and client expectations.
- Stay informed on cabinetry, countertops, appliances, and manufacturing processes to offer the best solutions to clients.
- Present design concepts, prepare quotes, and negotiate contracts to close sales while meeting sales targets.
- Work closely with manufacturers, suppliers, contractors, and installers to ensure smooth project execution from concept to completion.
- Provide ongoing support throughout the design and installation process, addressing any concerns and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Keep up with industry regulations, building codes, and design trends to maintain high-quality and compliant designs.
Requirements
- Client Consultation: Meet with customers to understand their needs, preferences, and budget, providing expert advice on kitchen layouts, materials, and finishes.
- Design & Planning: Create functional and stylish kitchen designs using CAD or kitchen design software, ensuring they meet industry trends, space efficiency, and client expectations.
- Product Knowledge & Recommendations: Stay informed on cabinetry, countertops, appliances, and manufacturing processes to offer the best solutions to clients.
- Sales & Business Development: Present design concepts, prepare quotes, and negotiate contracts to close sales while meeting sales targets.
- Project Coordination: Work closely with manufacturers, suppliers, contractors, and installers to ensure smooth project execution from concept to completion.
- Customer Service & Follow-Up: Provide ongoing support throughout the design and installation process, addressing any concerns and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Education & Qualifications
- Preferred: Degree or certificate in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Alternative: Sales, Business, or Marketing background with relevant experience in kitchen design or manufacturing.
- Certifications: Knowledge of kitchen design certifications (e.g., NKBA – National Kitchen & Bath Association) is a plus.
Experience
- Sales Experience: 13 years in a sales or customer-facing role, preferably in the kitchen, cabinetry, or manufacturing industry.
- Design Experience: Experience with space planning, material selection, and creating 2D/3D kitchen layouts.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with kitchen products, appliances, cabinetry, countertops, and manufacturing processes.
Technical Skills
- Design Software: Proficiency in CAD, 2020 Design, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar kitchen design tools.
- CRM & Sales Tools: Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) for sales tracking.
- Basic Measurements & Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret architectural drawings and take accurate site measurements.
Soft Skills & Abilities
- Sales & Negotiation: Strong persuasive skills to close deals and meet sales targets.
- Communication & Customer Service: Ability to explain design concepts and technical details clearly.
- Creativity & Problem-Solving: Ability to design innovative, functional kitchens while staying within budget.
- Time Management & Organization: Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturers, suppliers, and contractors to ensure seamless execution.
Other Requirements
- Portfolio (Preferred): A portfolio showcasing past kitchen designs or interior design work.
- Drivers License (Optional): If site visits or client meetings are required.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work weekends or evenings depending on client needs.
