Job Description
- Design and Analysis: Develop structural and mechanical designs for abattoir facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and local regulations.
- Collaborative Design: Work closely with architects, engineers, and construction teams to create integrated, high-performance building designs.
- Site Assessments and Surveys: Conduct site assessments to identify challenges and opportunities, ensuring the design is suitable for the intended use.
- Project Coordination: Lead or support project teams in the execution of design and construction plans, maintaining timelines and quality standards.
- Sustainability Focus: Design for operational efficiency and sustainability, considering energy use, waste management, and environmental impact in design solutions.
- Compliance and Documentation: Ensure designs meet regulatory standards for health, safety, and environmental laws.
- Problem Solving: Offer engineering solutions to resolve any issues during design, construction, or operational phases of the project.
- Cost and Budget Management: Estimate costs and prepare budgets for design and construction phases, ensuring adherence to financial constraints
Key Requirements:
- Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline.
- Experience:
- Proven experience as a Structural or Design Engineer.
- Prior experience in abattoir design, food processing, or related industrial facility design is highly preferred.
- Experience with structural analysis and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, etc.).
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of structural design principles and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes of practice related to industrial and food processing facilities.
- Experience with project management, including budgeting, timelines, and resource coordination.
- Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate ideas and technical details with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve design challenges efficiently.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in designs and compliance with all relevant standards.

- Knowledge of abattoir-specific regulations and best practices in the design of meat processing facilities.
