About the Role
Our client in the Retail Industry is seeking an experienced Debtors Clerk/Collector to join their team. As a key member of the collection team, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate bookkeeping records and communicating with clients to recover outstanding debts.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains routine and accurate bookkeeping
- Keeps records of payments made
- Determines which accounts are overdue
- Contacts companies who owe money in writing or by telephone to recover the outstanding balance
- Makes follow-up calls
Requirements
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Successful completion of the Professional Debt Collector Certification (ACA) is strongly preferred
- Ability to positively connect with clients and encourage them to make payments toward debts owed
- Time management skills are essential to complete all required client calls daily
- Experience meeting retention and negotiation sales goals
