About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to join our private restaurant team in Port Elizabeth. As a General Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring that customers receive exceptional service, and driving sales growth through effective management and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage kitchen operations, including pre-service preparation, cooking, and ordering.
- Oversee daily bread, cake, fruit & veg orders, as well as bar and kitchen orders.
- Execute Monday and Thursday orders with Bootlegger suppliers.
- Capture invoices, pull management overview reports, daily stock-takes, and perform daily cash-up procedures using GAAP knowledge.
- Roster staff, ensure punctuality, and improvise when short-staffed.
- Motivate waiters/waitresses to provide excellent customer service.
- Lead by example, handle guest complaints, build customer loyalty, and pre-empt service problems proactively.
Requirements
- Level 1 barista and beverage training in all areas.
- Full menu knowledge.
- Basic skills to manage a kitchen, including an ability to read a recipe.
- Ability to manage the ordering process.
- Knowledge of stock quality.
- Good working relationship with Bootlegger suppliers.
- Basic GAAP knowledge.
