About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Farm Manager to join our team in Paarl, responsible for overseeing crop production on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will have a strong background in agriculture, agronomy, or a related field, with proven experience in farm management and a passion for sustainable farming practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily farm operations effectively
- Interpret soil and leaf analysis results and implement corrective actions
- Implement and monitor fertilisation programmes and plant health management strategies
- Develop and maintain accurate production and operational records to support the profitability and long-term sustainability of the farm
- Supervise staff, contractors, and seasonal labour
- Ensure efficient use of irrigation systems and water management
Requirements
- Proven experience in farm management, preferably within permanent crops
- Strong working knowledge of soil analysis, fertilisation programmes, and plant health management
- Experience managing staff, contractors, and seasonal labour
- Sound understanding of irrigation systems and water management
- Ability to work independently with a hands-on approach
Qualifications
- Completed tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport
- Clear criminal record
