About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our team in Cape Town. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for performing structural analysis and design using finite element modelling techniques and software tools. With a strong foundation in structural analysis, you will work closely with architects, engineers, draughtsmen, and construction professionals to ensure the integrity, performance, and safety of structural systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design using finite element modelling techniques and software tools.
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, reports, and technical design specifications.
- Work alongside architects, engineers, draughtsmen and construction professionals to ensure the integrity, performance, and safety of structural systems.
- Conduct structural assessments and inspections during design and construction phases.
- Ensure compliance with local and international codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Assist in resolving structural challenges during construction, offering practical and innovative solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (required).
- 3–5 years of post-graduate experience in structural design and analysis.
- Proficiency in FEM software (e.g., Autodesk Robot, ETABS, Prokon, or equivalent).
- Solid understanding of local building codes, SANS standards, and construction practices.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Progress towards ECSA registration is a plus.
