About the Role
As the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Network International, you will drive the technology’s vision, strategy, and execution for the business. You will oversee the full IT function – spanning infrastructure, applications, data, platforms, cybersecurity, and digital innovation—ensuring that technology enables commercial growth, operational excellence, and customer value. This role requires close collaboration with Executive Leadership, ensuring that technology aligns with the business strategy while maintaining security, scalability, and performance across all markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the organisation’s IT and digital strategy to support commercial goals and multi-country growth.
- Lead the IT function, including infrastructure, software development, cybersecurity, data architecture, and systems operations.
- Oversee the development, deployment, and optimisation of mission-critical technology platforms (mobile, web, payment systems, backend systems, and data).
- Implement robust cybersecurity, data governance, and compliance frameworks to safeguard sensitive business and customer information.
- Manage IT budgets, procurement, vendor relationships, licensing, and resource allocation.
- Partner with commercial, operations, and executive teams to ensure technology supports market expansion and operational efficiency.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance service delivery and customer experience.
- Ensure systems reliability, scalability, and performance across all African operations.
- Represent the IT function at Exco/Senior Leadership level, providing insights on the technology roadmap, risks, and opportunities.
Requirements
- 10+ years’ senior IT leadership experience, ideally as CIO, CTO, or Head of Technology.
- Strong experience in scaling technology environments across multiple countries or high-growth businesses.
- Deep expertise in IT infrastructure, systems architecture, digital platforms, data management, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
- Experience in logistics, supply chain, transport, and fintech is highly advantageous.
- Working experience in African markets is highly advantageous and strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to lead high-performing, cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to align technology with commercial objectives.
- Demonstrated success managing IT budgets, vendors, and large-scale implementations.
