About the Role

Boardroom Appointments is seeking an experienced Centurion to lead our transport service provider (TSP) network as a Subcontractor Manager. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for managing our relationships with multiple TSPs, ensuring compliance and safety standards are met, and driving commercial growth through new business opportunities. Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the TSP/vendor database, ensuring all documentation, compliance certifications, and onboarding information remain current
  • Monitor subcontractor fleet availability, roadworthiness, licensing, and maintenance cycles
  • Oversee route allocations, load scheduling, and daily execution monitoring
  • Ensure subcontractors adhere to company service level standards, business rules, and operational processes
  • Manage communication between subcontractors and internal teams to ensure smooth operations and timely escalation of issues
  • Conduct regular performance reviews of subcontractors based on KPIs (on-time arrivals, communication, quality of service, turnaround performance, and exception handling)

Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Understanding of transport legislation, safety requirements, and general logistics workflows
  • Experience across multiple logistics sectors (general freight, tankers, containers, tippers, abnormals, and cross-border transport) advantageous

Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Transport Management (advantageous but not essential)
  • Minimum 23 years experience in transport operations, subcontractor management, fleet coordination, or logistics control (advantageous)
